A car today, a car of the future

This week I picked up my new car! Now that is a toy for a boy don't you say? I am always joyful getting a new car, and so I should be. Although this time I really enjoyed receiving my new car because of a couple of new techy stuff I predicted that should be in a car of the future. These are some first steps of a driverless car and of course like what I wrote about in a previous blog "no hands".

The type of car I received I am really fund of, it's a Skoda Octavia! It's a car with high standards of quality (it still is somewhat of a Volkswagen) and with the price of... well a Skoda! That is why I could arm it to the teeth with options and well like techy stuff. One of the new techniques is called Drive Lane Assistant. This option help you stay in between the lines on the road. When driving you feel the car is helping with steering around corners, you can even let go of the wheel and it will drive itself, you only have to use the gas pedal. It really is about not driving into a ditch when falling asleep, however the camera in the front window could, actually I think should, look around and when collision is ahead the car should stop like some expensive cars already have.

Already Mercedes is experimenting with google glass. I really think that is the future of a car. In your front screen you will see your navigation, information about speed, etc about cars in front, and much more. BMW does already use augmented reality for showing navigation in your front screen, really need!

Next to my drive lane assistant I can use voice control. It really is a better version of what I had in my previous Skoda and not only for my phone, for almost all gadgets in my car. I think this version is already so much better, at least it listens well. However this voice control is not as fast. I really have to what a while when filling out my navigation address. Its not that a much trouble because when I use navigation the address is not around the corner. But I think it is kind of irritating. A well I will get used to it in a while.

What kind of tech stuff do you have in your car and what is your favourite?

Don't bend your display!

Short message to get all current labels in place (sorry for the inconvenience but I have to start somewhere). These subjects I will blog about later on, they have to present the trends nowadays and what is hot right now, at least those with potential:

A technology in development for years is the bendable display. We might have a breakthrough with Samsung presenting a bendable tablet: Samsung tablet with flexible display spotted in new design patent (source: Android Authority). However it still is difficult to deliver quality with a bendable display.

Imagine having a bendable display for as a smartphone! Just forget about all the other electronics needed to use your phone for a minute. You can easily put your phone in your pocket or elsewhere and it could be as big as a tablet if you wish, no problem carrying it. Or think about your SmartWatch, a bended display just makes the surface to use bigger.

Is it just a smart watch or a SmartWatch?

Short message to get all current labels in place (sorry for the inconvenience but I have to start somewhere). These subjects I will blog about later on, they have to present the trends nowadays and what is hot right now, at least those with potential:

An upcoming gadget in IT is the smartwatch. The smartwatch is an enhancement to your smartphone. The smartwatch is kind of a small extension to check your messages and who is calling in a flash. Next to that it can be used as another extension because it acts like a sensor. This sensor is able to send information to your smartphone and collect data like heartbeat, steps and more.

Steering with no hands

It took a while for the first real article to show on this blog, sorry for that. In this first article I want to focus on the future way we are going to use our gadgets. Nowadays we use our things with our hands most of the time. This might be the way we are used to, but this is actually less efficient. More efficient ways are to let a machine take over, but that might not be the next step and for some things this will never happen because we like it to much, like driving our car.

Google and Apple are having a war on using your gadgets with gestures and voice.  This is the future way we will use our phone and other machines. Actually this is more efficient, but this will not happen from one day to another, it takes a while. Even the software and hardware are not ready, but that will soon be over. In my opinion this can be done with the new phones like Iphone 5 and the samsung S4, but people are so used to using their phone with hands in stead of voice.

Ik don't use it often actually, but the times I use it it actually works without problems. I am not sure if I am going to use it even this year, but I will try it more often. The reason I will try it, is because I will gain time, time I can use to write these articles and will write about my experiences right here.
This article will show a couple of trend happening that endorse for my opinion. I also present a couple of hyperlinks, backing up my statement, to articles and news about these subjects.

Do u use voice or motion controls? What is your opinion about these kind of controls and would you like to share your experience?

Why did I choose this subject?

This is my first blog here. I hope a lot of messages will follow of course. However I still have doubts I can discipline myself for writing now and then.

A lot of time has passed for this first message to be wrote. I read a lot about innovation on IT, because I am very interested in new possibilities. I always was an early adopter because of this interest. I don't just read about these new gadgets, systems or what else is new, I curate them. I don't think everybody is familiar with this word, so in other words that means I collect articles about topics or innovations that appear to me as next big things that really will share our world or just that are so good that we as consumers will probably use within a couple of years. Every time I see new things appear I always instantly will think of what it can be used on.  Most of these thought remain within a small group of people that I know and some of them I tweet or post them elsewhere. This is one reason why I want to start a blog, to share my thoughts so they can be used by others. I still read a lot of articles and still will store them in my delicious account, but from now on will use them to support my blogs.

A second reason for starting this blog is just for practise. I am not that good at writing. But I figured there will be only one way to get better at it and that is by doing it for real. Now to overcome that fear of people reading my text was a bit hard, but people still read my stuff because the story makes sense in the end, but the writing is not that good. Practise this will learn me how to write and I will give my thoughts in return.

Now about this subject. I chose this subject because I really like it. I like reading about innovations and thinking about how we can use them. Writing about it won't be hard at all if I can find the time of course because that is one of the reasons I wrote to hope keep blogging for a long time.
